Family Halloween Party 2008

I know, I know... you are thinking- seriously, more Halloween? Yes, more Halloween. I had some picture drama, and I didn't want these ones left out. So here are some pictures from our annual Halloween Party. This was I think our 4th year, and it has become a fun family tradition.

The donut game was a new addition to the festivities this year.

The kids had a lot of fun with it. Who can resist a krispy Kreme?

The picture of me and my sisters was on MY camera, which (referring to a later post) are lost. Hopefully, one day to be found. It was such a fun night. I am so thankful to have the greatest family that all come together to make such fun memories for our kids. I am looking forward to next years Halloween bash!!

Halloween Storytime at the Treehouse

So something terrible happened to me a few weeks ago. We had had quite an eventful week at our house. We visited the pumpkin patch, enjoyed a weekend getaway to Park City, went to The Treehouse Museum with Mimi and Papa, and hosted our annual family Halloween bash. I had taken some darling pictures of the kids, and was looking so forward to getting them on my computer so I could post them. Well me, being the computer genius that I am, somehow lost about 150 of the cutest pictures I've taken in a long time!! Let's just say I spent an entire day literally crying over my mistake. Visions of my darling photos running through my head. Nic consoled me. Rylie consoled me. She said to me, "Did you leave them over there?" Pointing in all different directions. To which I had to explain, "No honey, I lost them on the computer." She patted my back (one of my favorite things in the world), brushed my hair from my forehead, and sympathized, "I hope you find your pictures Mom." That right there made it all better. I love what a little loving mother she is. She seriously made me feel better.

Luckily, my Dad had his camera at a couple of these events and I was able to salvage some pictures for memories sake. Thanks Dad!!

The kids got to dress up in their costumes.

Rylie was so excited about curling her hair for her snow white costume.

They had so much fun with their cousins.
Kaden was totally into the stories.
The girls holding hands walking from station to station was adorable.
And we can't forget about ol' Parker Frett...
Wait, let's get a closer shot... precious pea pod.
Here we have the fire-breathing dragon found at the end of this adventure. Alright... maybe not fire-breathing, I'm feeling a little dramatic (if you couldn't tell).
After the Treehouse, we went to Mimi and Papa's for some pizza. Me and my sisters pictured here with the three babiest of the bunch. They are growing too fast!!
And a little Mario Kart on the Wii. Kaden is obsessed!!
We all had a great time, and I am so glad my Dad was able to get me some cute pics of our fun night!! Thanks Mimi & Papa for the fun fun night!!

The Whole Gang Together

We took advantage of a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and snapped some pictures of the family.
The whole gang. Wow! Our family all of a sudden seems so big.

The girls gathered around the kitchen doing what we do best. Gab!!
Rob, Lacey, and Liam came up for Sunday dinner. It was great to get to spend some time with them. We have had a lot of fun getting to know them better.

Papa and the big kids. I guess big toddlers. Ha Ha.

Liam having some dinner. Isn't he handsome?
Nic and Erik pretending to actually help in the cleaning up of dinner. Ha Ha... we took a picture because we figured it would definitely last longer. Knuckleheads.
Of course the night would not be complete without a little competition on the Wii. I love that Kaden is right in there with the big boys. He absolutely loves it!!

Even we girls got in on the action. Let me just tell you. I am terrible at Mario Kart! I am all over the place. And while the adults were downstairs playing Mario Kart, the girls were having a little fun of their own upstairs. Here is a picture of their "hopscotch." Crayon was all over my parents hallway. Luckily, the carpet cleaner was already scheduled to come the next morning. Holy cow!! I'm glad it came out, and thanks Mimi & Papa for being good sports.

Privacy Please

I woke up today and on the KSL homepage was an article about the safety, or lack thereof, in blogging. I have decided it is in my family's best interest that we make our blog private. It is a difficult decision because I really enjoy being able to get back in touch with so many of you that I have lost touch with over the years. But with that being said, I will sleep better at night knowing my family's information is protected a little better. So if you would like to keep up with our blog please leave me your e-mail address so that I can make sure I add you to the list.
Thanks!! And happy voting today!!

Happy Halloween!!

Halloween 2008... we had a great day. Busy, but great. The night before, Nic helped the kids with the carving of the pumpkin. Kade and Rylie designed his face... very traditional. Triangle eye's and nose, and a big toothy grin. My favorite!!

To jump start the trick-or-treating, we went to see my Grandma at her assisted living. We visited with her and the kids had a great time going door to door collecting candy.
When we got back home we had some yummy soup with some of our neighbors, then Nic and the kids were off en route for some more delicious treats. This picture turned out kinda dark, but I liked it.
Batman and "Cinderella" as Rylie calls herself. It was the year of princess costumes. Every event led to a new princess dress. They left me home all alone... with this. Me and Reeses peanut butter cups, not a good combination.Parker enjoying one of Daddy's famous shoulder rides.
The kids went around for about a half an hour or so, and then they were plum-tuckered out and ready to come in and sift through their bags. After they had consumed a record amount of sugar I decided it was time for some dinner, a bath, jammies, and Kade wanted to pop Rylie's popcorn (favorite trick-or-treating find of the night), and watch a "family movie."
Incredibles it was... and we all snuggled up.
Nothing like chugging sprite straight from the bottle... ha ha. It was almost gone. And what the heck... it was halloween right?
