Good day for a drive

Saturday morning we couldn't decide what to do with ourselves. We were supposed to be up at Bear Lake, but where Kade had been a little under the weather we didn't know if he was still contagious or not. We decided it would be best if we didn't go, but then we were pretty bored so we loaded up in the car and decided to take a drive...
Our first stop-- BUG JUICE & Ring Pops!!
Next we headed up over Trappers Loop and into the Ogden Valley...

We stopped off up at Southfork to check out the river. It was so beautiful up there!
The kids found the biggest "magic flowers" they had ever seen!!

That's a good snuggle daddy!!

They had a blast throwing rocks into the river!!
I just love this picture of Kaden & Rylie!!
On our way down the canyon we stopped at the Greenery and got a bite to eat!! Kaden was being a goof-ball and showing us how he balances his silverware on his chin!
To finish the day off, we stopped at good old Farr's Icecream for a little treat!! Gotta love playdough icecream!!

Pedicures with "The Sis"

On Friday, Rylie and I got a little bored and decided to do a little "primping" if you will. I just bought this new nail polish the other day and sis has been dying to try it on! We went outside on the porch so as to not get pink polish everywhere. So here is a picture of the finished product!! My favorite is the set on the right!! After our pedi's, we went in and snacked on some edamame. Rylie LOVES it!! We had a great time doin' our girl thing, and Rylie keeps showing us her cute pink piggy's!!

Pioneer Day

To celebrate the holiday today, we woke up and headed to Ogden to watch the parade with Candace, Erik, Erik's mom Sue, and all the kids. It was one of those events that everything fell into place and went smoothly. We pulled in and found two parking stalls right next to each other, walked down to our blankets, and sat down right in time for the parade to start!!
It's never too early for a parade!! Rylie, Kaden, & Gracie looking ready for the Ogden Pioneer Days Parade!
Kaden thought the fire truck was especially cool. He says he wants to be a "Firefighter" when he grows up!
I love the look on Gracie's face right here. Oh, the excitement--priceless!!
Unfortunately, Nic had to work. The kids and I had a great time, but we missed our daddy.
Thanks to Candace and Sue, we had a prime location under a big shady tree right next to the curb! It was perfect!! And of course, Candace came equipped with donuts, capri suns, and all sorts of goodies. Thanks Candace!!
Parker was looking mighty handsome today after he got out of his jammies, so I thought I would put a little picture of him in!!

Well Kaden woke up from a little nap this afternoon and had spiked a temperature of 103.4, so I think that might be the end of our festivities for the day. I hope everyone had a great day celebrating, and honoring our pioneer ancestors for their faith and sacrifices.

Costco Gone Bad

For those of you who know me very well you might know that I absolutely LOVE Costco. It is like Disneyland to me, just puts a smile right on my face the minute I walk in the door. The oversized shopping carts, the shiny floors, the sample tables(we can graze for hours), the unbelievable fresh produce, the amazing variety of high quality merchandise, and don't forget when it's all said and done, you get pizza, hotdogs, and churros at the end!! It's fun for the whole family!! I have a Sams Club right down the street, but my love for Costco runs too deep... it's worth the drive to Bountiful.

Well today I woke up, changed Parker's bum, and proceeded to put him in the last diaper I had. Any of you ever been there? Trust me, I searched desperately through the house-hoping to find a few stashed somewhere to get me through the day. There was none to be found, and the realization that I was going to have to go to Costco all by myself was setting in. Nic was at work, and I knew it was a matter of moments before Parker filled that diaper up again. So yup, me and the troops, all three, were off to Costco. I was like, "I can do this!!" How bad can it be-right? WRONG!! First of all, I load up the kids in the car, and the whining starts. "Mom-I'm hungry, I didn't need to go potty at home-but I have to go potty now! When are we going to get there, this is taking FOREVER!!" So I start to cringe, but continue on my way in hopes that things will get better. I get there, load the kids into my oversized cart, and suddenly it doesn't look so oversized anymore. I thought to myself, "where am I going to put all the stuff?" I had a pretty extensive list, and the things I needed were not small. I was quite impressed the way I cramed items in every nook and crany of that cart. I had boxes of diapers, wipes, toilet paper, paper towells, gatorade, not to mention all of the little things. You couldn't even see Parker down in there, and I had built a pretty tall tower of boxes that I could barely see over. I carefully steered my way through, stopping at each sample table to get the kids(and me) a tasty treat, most of which was either too hot, "Mom-blow on it!!" or "I don't like it!!" I don't think Kaden ever stopped whining and crying through the whole store, "Mom, I'm huuunnnggry..." Aaahhhh!! We finally made it somehow to the checkout line and paid. I thought, oh good, they can finally eat, and maybe Kade will stop crying.

I ordered up, they had pizza & hotdogs. I ran back and forth, grabbing napkins, filling drinks, cutting pizza, splitting hotdogs, getting ketchup, blowing on food so as to not burn tongues, and finally sat down to take a bite. Things seemed to be looking up for a moment, we were enjoying our food, and each others company. When the kids finished they hopped down and made their way over to the vending machines, (blast those dang vending machines-thanks Costco) and began asking for money to get a treat(as if the churro and frozen yogurt I got them wasn't enough). I began to clear our table when all of a sudden, Rylie came running over and I don't even know what happened, but before I knew it Rylie and I were covered from head to toe in frozen yogurt and ketchup. The yogurt had landed on the floor and was oozing out of the cup. I rushed over to grab more napkins and cleaned Rylie up the best I could. At this point, Parker was awake and beginning to fuss. I thought to myself, I better get out of here-and fast!! I went to load them in the cart and Kaden throws the biggest tantrum I've seen in a long time. He was kicking me and screaming at the top of his lungs because I wouldn't buy him a treat, then Rylie began screaming because she still wanted her yogurt, and Parker joined in and let loose. There I was in the middle of lunch time, the day before a holiday weekend(busy busy), and everyone is looking at me waiting for a reaction. I calmly finished cleaning up and pretended that I couldn't feel everyone's eyes on me as I began walking out...my flip flops sticking to my feet with every step from the frozen yogurt...all three kids screaming in my jam-packed cart...and I looked down and saw a napkin stuck in the wheel of our cart(I felt like I had just walked out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck to my shoe), it really was quite a sight!! It was so bad I had cute little old ladies coming up to me, reassuring me that my kids are darling and saying, "You really handled yourself well there." Aarrgghh....

Needless to say I will not be returning to "The Costco" (as Kade used to call it) any time soon. My once joyous outing has suddenly turned into quite a feat. I will now only go when I am ALL alone, or wait until Nic can join me and help man the troops. Sorry for the long story, but it was quite traumatizing.

Happy Birthday Mimi!!

Big 3 Month Old

On July 17th, Parker was officially 3 months old!! I can't believe how big he has gotten lately. His rolls are getting bigger by the day-perfect for gushing!! He is starting to be so interactive. In the morning when he wakes up, the second he sees me he gets the biggest grin on his face, which of course makes me about the happiest mama in the whole world. He has started laughing at things too, and has the most adorable little laugh. He is very ticklish!! He LOVES when you change his diaper. Parker is the first of our kids to care when their bum is dirty. He is so patient, calm, and content. He loves to talk and give kisses(open-mouth). There really is nothing better than kissing a gummy mouth!! Parker pretty much sleeps through the night now-YAY for me!! He loves to play pat-a-cake, sing songs in the bath tub, and has developed a "terrible cough" to get attention. So cute! We are just loving every second with him!!

Lending a helping hand

On Monday night we went over to Ty and Stephs house to help out a little in their yard. They just moved into a new house a few months ago and they have been hard at work tryin' to get their yard in. I don't know how much we actually helped, but we sure had a good time. Hey- any excuse to get together with family and eat pizza- right.

Kade was dressed for the basketball game that followed Ty and Steph's, and Rylie insisted on wearing her pink snow boots and sunglasses. They were both lookin' pretty darn cute! Although, neither of them would let me take their picture. So this is what I got . . .

Ty, Nic, and Ben, looking so hot . . . literally . . . but they are hot!!

Gramy, me, & Parker . . . Parker had on his "boxing gloves" as we call them because he keeps scratching his poor little face. I decided to protect him from himself.

Aunt Hotta, Sophie, Alie Jo, & Ry-Bug . . . Pizza Party!!

Steph, Kade, & Kole . . . Wow! Those boys are getting big!! Can you believe Steph is like 5 months pregnant?! One of these days she is going to start showing!!

While everyone was working hard outside . . . Matt had a little something he was working on inside . . .

It was a fun night, and Nic & Matt even won their basketball game! Way to go guys!!
